Elsie had her eye surgery Friday morning. Everything went just fine and they look so much better now! The opthamologist was originally planning to work on both eyes but the left one cleared up so they just did the right. Since she was born her tear ducts have been clogged and not draining properly so they were constantly getting infected. They put her under anesthesia and inserted a silicone tube through her nose to her eye. The tube will remain in her eye for about 3 months. She was so happy while we were waiting for them to take her back to surgery. Understandably, she was more fussy and tired the rest of the day (she took two 3-hr naps).
Here are a few before shots of what her eyes always looked like. She would often wake up with one or two eyes glued shut with eye goob.
Her eyes would also often be red, watery, and goobey.
Now we can see her beautiful eyes! She seems much happier too since we aren't always trying to clean them off.
We have been enjoying some beautiful weather.
Our friends are letting us "store" their trampoline and Annabelle loves it! Thank you Harris's! She couldn't wait for us to put the net around and of course fell off but then got right back on.
Elsie was making silly faces through the window.
Jumping with Daddy!
Somebody was losing their pants from jumping so much.
Watching the rain fall. I don't know what it is with all these bum shots lately.
I have been meaning to experiment with what Annabelle's hair would look like straightened. Different but still the same beautiful girl!
Both of the girls love to sit and watch videos of themselves and I love to sit and cuddle with them.
Annabelle was feeding Elsie and decided to have a little herself.
I love that last picture! So glad it all went well with Elsie's surgery.
